Entry & Patio Door Installation

Secure, weathertight doors that make an entrance and keep the cold out.

Why FortExteriors Systems

What Sets Our Doors Work Apart

Fiberglass, steel & wood options

Durable, low-maintenance entry doors in a range of styles, from classic six-panel to modern full-glass.

Sliding & French patio doors

Multi-point locking patio doors that open up sightlines to a deck or backyard without sacrificing security.

Precision frame installation

Doors are shimmed plumb and square with continuous weatherstripping — the top cause of drafty, sticking doors is a crooked frame.

Enhanced security hardware

Multi-point locks, reinforced strike plates, and smart-lock-compatible hardware available on request.

Our Process

How a Doors Project Works

  1. Measurement & style selection

We measure the rough opening and review door styles, glass inserts, and hardware finishes.

  2. Custom order & scheduling

Doors are ordered to fit, and installation is scheduled around your timeline.

  3. Removal & frame prep

Old doors and frames come out; rough openings are inspected and repaired for square, level installation.

  4. Install, seal & test

New door is set, shimmed, weatherstripped, and tested for smooth operation and a tight seal.

FAQ

Doors Questions, Answered

Fiberglass or steel — which entry door is better?

Fiberglass resists dents and holds paint/stain well over time; steel is a strong, budget-friendly option but can dent. Both perform well in New England weather when installed correctly.

Why is my door drafty even though it’s not that old?

Drafts almost always come from a frame that isn’t plumb/square or worn weatherstripping — not the door slab itself. We correct the frame, not just swap the door.

Can you install a patio door where there’s currently just a window?

Yes, though it requires structural framing changes and is a larger project. We handle the framing, header sizing, and permitting.

Do you install smart locks?

Yes, we can install smart-lock-compatible hardware on new entry doors or upgrade hardware on existing doors.
